Parent Update: 11/2/25

Message from the Principal
Happy November! I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued support and partnership as we move into the final stretch of the semester.

Our Trunk or Treat event was an incredible success! Thank you to all the families who decorated trunks, donated candy, volunteered, and joined us for an evening full of fun and community. A special shout-out to Mrs. Simmons and her Parent Involvement Team for coordinating such a well-organized and joy-filled event — it truly brought our school family together.

As we head into the busy holiday season, there are many exciting events coming up during these last six weeks of the semester. Please make sure to check ParentSquare and the school calendar regularly to stay up to date on all upcoming activities, performances, and celebrations.

Thank you for being such an important part of what makes Annette Perry Elementary the Best School in the Universe. Your involvement, encouragement, and support mean the world to us and to your children.

Wishing everyone a wonderful November filled with gratitude, kindness, and joy!

Veterans Day Celebration at Perry Elementary
We are proud to honor our nation’s heroes this Veterans Day — Tuesday, November 11th at 8:00 a.m. Please join us at the flagpole for a special ceremony recognizing the veterans and active service members in our Perry community.

We warmly invite parents, grandparents, and family members of our students who have served or are currently serving in the military to attend. Students are welcome to join their family members during the ceremony.

Our Perry Choir will perform in tribute to those who have bravely served our country, and we will also hold a special flag-raising ceremony to honor the occasion.

If you are a service member or veteran and would like to assist in raising the flags that morning, please contact Mrs. Crystal Constante at crystalconstante@misdmail.org

We look forward to standing together in gratitude as we recognize the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our nation’s heroes.

🚗 Morning Drop-Offs & Tardies
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation during morning drop-off — your help keeps our mornings safe and smooth for all students!

A few friendly reminders:
Morning drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m. Please do not drop students off before this time, as staff supervision does not begin until 7:30.

We’ve noticed a big rush right before 8:00 a.m. as families try to get students into the building. Our team works hard to get everyone out of their cars quickly, but arriving with only seconds to spare can make for a stressful start to your child’s morning — and sometimes, it’s just not enough time.

If you arrive after 8:00 a.m., please park and walk your child to the front of the school.

Thank you for helping us keep our mornings safe, organized, and positive for every student!

Title I Parent Compact & Family Engagement Policy
At Perry Elementary, we value the partnership between school and home in helping every student succeed. Our Title I School–Parent Compact outlines the shared responsibilities of the school, families, and students to support learning both in the classroom and at home. In addition, our Parent & Family Engagement Policy explains how families can be involved in decision-making, events, and activities that strengthen our school community. Both documents are available on our school website and in the front office upon request.
