This is an after school competitive book club in which students read assigned books, attend meetings, and compete in a competition to determine which group of students will advance to represent our school at the MISD competition. The club is available for students in 3rd and 4th grade.
Athletics is a club offered to 3rd and 4th graders. This club allows students to participate in a variety of sports throughout the school year. The four sports offered are as followed; Flag football, Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer. Throughout the school year each sport practices for 5 weeks and on the sixth week, a game is played between the students. The object of Athletics is for students to build a strong foundation on fundamentals with a focus on discipline, attitude and effort.
Participants in cheer club will work on chants, cheers and dance where they will perform at dojo pep rallies, and some events such as Toys for Tots. Students who participate in cheer club will learn leadership skills, will maintain a satisfactory citizenship and grades and serve as positive role models.
Competitions will take place in the spring and is made up of several academic contests. Through practice, students will use and improve critical thinking skills, memorization skills, note-take skil;s, and work to increase their ability to find information.
UIL Clubs includes Number Sense, Music Memory, Art Smart, Chess Puzzle, Ready Writing, Creative Writing, Storytelling, and Spelling.
